Since its foundation in 1912, the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) has been committed to promoting the self-sustained development of society through the generation of knowledge, the formation of qualified human resources and the promotion of citizenship. The Intercultural and Language Center (Celin) from the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) develops projects in more than 15 languages. Celin offers foreign language courses for the UFPR internal community and the public in general. It also stands out as an important space for integrating the UFPR Language courses and teaching practice, by promoting teacher education for both undergraduate and graduate students, research and scientific production. Since its foundation, in 1995, Celin has become a reference in Brazil when it comes to teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language, teacher training and research in this area.
